I’m Irene, a maker, a mother, and a creative explorer, living and practicing art in southern Maine. I am inspired by the colors and textures I find in nature, especially along the maine coast. This guides me in what I will create as well as the medium I use. I work in watercolors and acrylics but also in printmaking and fiber arts.

I received my B.F.A. from the University of Southern Maine, taking classes at Maine College of Art & Design towards my degree. After college I turned to fiber arts and crafts as my creative outlet while pursuing teaching as a career. Nearly a decade later, with two young kids at home, I’ve returned to a more consistent art process and am currently exploring watercolors and acrylics.
